Community Outreach

Serving Communities

When we dedicate ourselves to helping our communities, a beautiful ripple effect is set into motion. We become better people and a better company. Which means we do better for the companies and government bodies we serve, and they do better for their customers and citizens.

Houston Corporate 5K

Every year we lace up our running shoes to promote wellness, do a little team bonding, and put in a few miles with 52,000 colleagues from fellow Houston companies. This fun run / walk benefits the Memorial Park Conservancy.

Seven people in athletic wear stand smiling together in front of a Houston Corporate 5K event backdrop, representing their team’s Global Outreach. Some wear medals and race bibs. The group is outdoors, with one person flashing a peace sign playfully.

Call in the GOTEAM

At Access Sciences, community service is more than an initiative. It’s a formal part of who we are. Our Global Outreach Team, better known as GOTEAM, supports organizations focused on literacy, education, and community improvement, and it gives employees up to 16 hours of annual paid volunteer time.

501st Legion

The 501st Legion is a global all-volunteer Star Wars costuming group whose motto, “Bad Guys Doing Good,” highlights their commitment to community service — from hospital visits at places like Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital to fundraising drives supporting children’s charities such as Starlight Children’s Foundation and Make‑A‑Wish Foundation.
